Crossing Things Off

It's the last day of March so I'm getting this update in just under the wire. Am I the only one who thinks that this year is just racing by?

Sadly, with the sudden move I had to orchestrate, I've crossed only one thing off my list this month: Pinkberry. Still, it's something at least and I promise to come up with a slightly more interesting update for you next month.

Seven down, ninety-three to go...

  1. Train at least three times a week for six months.
  2. Fight in a Muay Thai match.
  3. Do something physical every single day for three months.
  4. Do 3 pull-ups.
  5. Do 100 "real" push-ups.
  6. Do 100 sit-ups
    Completed January 23, 2008. Ow.
  7. Complete a marathon, biking or running.
  8. Climb Half Dome or Mt. Washington.
  9. Go on another canoe trip.
  10. Complete The Artist's Way.
  11. Get something published somewhere other than on my blog.
  12. Pay off my car.
  13. Pay off few remaining debts.
  14. Get a raise, a new job, or both!
    Got a raise Nov 30, 2007, but I'm not ruling out the new job yet *g*
  15. Adopt a dog.
  16. Follow a disciplined spiritual practice for three months.
  17. Travel abroad at least twice.
  18. Cook at least two meals a day at home for one month.
  19. Take the cats to the vet for check-ups.
  20. Complete the office.

  21. Complete the living room.
  22. Complete the bathroom.
  23. Complete the dining room.
  24. Complete the bedroom.
  25. Complete the kitchen & pantry.
  26. Plant roses beside the house.
  27. Plant & maintain the front gardens for one spring & summer.
  28. Buy a miniature potted fruit tree.
  29. Speak French fluently again.
  30. Become passably fluent in a third language.
  31. Take a digital photography class.
  32. Read the newspaper every day for a month.
  33. Play poker in Las Vegas.
  34. Throw myself a blow-out birthday party.
  35. Learn all the state capitals by heart (again).
  36. Learn to drive a manual transmission.
  37. Buy a high-end digital camera.
  38. Buy a Mac desktop.
  39. Learn to snowboard.
  40. Skydive.
  41. Buy a shotgun.
  42. Learn to shoot skeet.
  43. Go back to Arcadia with Firebug to celebrate the 20th anniversary of our friendship.
  44. Build a broader investment portfolio.
  45. Save $5 a day for 6 months.
  46. Draft a legal will.
  47. Print and frame the favorite photos that I have taken.
  48. Assemble a comprehensive family tree.
  49. Organize all of my recipes into one book.
  50. Visit my friends in SF, NYC, Florida, Seattle, Austin & Toronto.

  51. Start a collection.
  52. Transfer all of my CDs into iTunes.
    I started this little task on January 1, 2008 (it was all part of "completing the office") and finished on January 3, 2008. Phew.
  53. Meet or discover a man with whom I would like to spend the rest of my life.
  54. Send my parents on a wonderful trip.
  55. Meet Brandon in person.
  56. Get another tattoo.
  57. Host at least six dinner parties.
  58. Send timely holiday cards.
  59. Buy myself a fabulous piece of jewelry.
  60. Maintain my hair for 6 months straight.
  61. Go to a Chargers game.
  62. Go to a Kings game.
  63. Go to an 'SC football game.
  64. Hear a concert at the Walt Disney Concert Hall.
  65. Blog daily for three months.
  66. Learn my father's secret for really excellent chili.
  67. Learn my mother's secret for vegetable beef soup.
  68. Go on a whirlwind weekend trip with someone fantastic.
  69. Get SCUBA certified.
  70. Dive the Great Barrier Reef.
  71. Live abroad for at least a month.
  72. Go to the Griffith Park Observatory.
  73. Go to the Getty Villa.
  74. Go to the Los Angeles Zoo.
  75. Go to the Long Beach Aquarium.
  76. See a movie at Hollywood Forever.
  77. Attend an awards show, rather than working it.
  78. Set up at least ten good playlists in iTunes.
  79. See the 102 Movies [I] Must See Before [I] Die.
  80. Learn to play the guitar I've owned for over a year.
  81. Volunteer / participate in one charitable event at least once a month for six months.
  82. Send three Any Soldier packages each month for six months.
  83. Get on the TiVo bandwagon.
  84. Buy an HD, flat-panel TV and mount it on the living room wall.
  85. Go to three concerts.
  86. Measurably increase my blog readership.
  87. Visit all 50 states.
  88. Get rid of all extraneous email addresses / social networking site memberships / etc.
  89. Attend a political rally.
  90. Back up my computer monthly.
  91. Renew my passport (I can't believe I even let it expire!).
  92. Unplug from movies, television, radio, and the internet for a week.
  93. Buy a Blackberry Pearl (if Verizon ever gets them).
    Verizon did get them and I bought one on Nov 14, 2007!
  94. Take a specialty cooking class at Williams-Sonoma.
  95. Attend a book signing.
  96. Submit a secret to Post Secret.
  97. Try Pinkberry (Sorry, Hil).
    Completed March 29, 2008. It was fine. Not FANTASTIC, but fine.
  98. Host at least five game nights / afternoons.
  99. See Megan before she moves.
    Completed December 29, 2007. Now she can move to Michigan *g*.
  100. Post updates about my progress at least once a month.
  101. Finish this list.
