2007, a retrospective
Holy crap, where did December go? I thought November flew by but damn - I completely missed December! One minute I'm packing to head back east and now I'm in Seattle, packing to head back to L.A. again.
On second thought, where on earth did 2007 go? I swear it was just March.
Ah well, the end of the year can mean only one thing - it's time once again for my favorite 40 questions about 2007!
1) Was 2007 a good year for you?
Overall, yes.
2) What was your favorite moment of the year?
It's a tie between this conversation with The Fireman and my first Muay Thai session.
3) What was your least favorite moment of the year?
J's suicide, and Rauri's departure for Baghdad.
4) Where were you when 2007 began?
At my house, watching the Rose Parade
5) Who were you with?
Just the cats.
6) Where will you be when 2007 ends?
Dunno yet. Sickboy is having a fancy-pants New Year's Eve party which I many or may not attend, depending on what time I get out of work. New Year's Day is all about the Rose Bowl, baby!
7) Who will you be with when 2007 ends?
Depends what I decide to do with my evening!
8) Did you keep your New Year's resolution of 2007?
I don't make traditional resolutions, but I was pretty successful at living up to the goals I'd set for myself.
9) Do you have a New Year's resolution for 2008?
Again, I don't do traditional resolutions. I am going to make another Mondo Beyondo list this year, though, and I've started another 101 in 1001 list.
10) Did you fall in love in 2007?
Yes
11) If yes, with whom?
The Fireman
12) If yes, do they know?
Yes
There's no way to answer that question in less than a few paragraphs ;)
14) Do you regret it?
No, not at all
15) Did you breakup with anyone in 2007?
Yes, The Fireman and I broke up.
16) Did you make any new friends in 2007?
Yes, lots!
17) Who are your favorite new friends?
I still refuse to pick a favorite, but I spend the most time with the folks at the gym.
18) What was your favorite month of 2007?
None of them stand out as being completely spectacular, but May was very nice.
19) Did you travel outside of the US in 2007?
Sadly, no.
20) How many different states did you travel to in 2007?
4 (Sad. Very, very sad.)
21) Did you lose anybody close to you in 2007?
No, but I came uncomfortably close to it.
22) Did you miss anybody in the past year?
Yes, I miss people all the time.
23) What was your favorite movie that you saw in 2007?
Transformers, Knocked Up, American Gangster, and Juno all stand out in my memory.
24) What was your favorite song from 2007?
Jimmy Eat World, Firefight & Nickelback, Far Away
25) What was your favorite record from 2007?
Daughtry, Daughtry & Linkin Park, Minutes to Midnight
26) Did you see any concerts this year?
I saw a couple of things at the Hollywood Bowl, and we had our annual summer concert at work (though I wasn't really a fan of the headliner so I spent most of that one enjoying the open bar).
27) Did you have a favorite concert in 2007?
Nope, they were all fun.
28) Did you drink a lot of alcohol in 2007?
Who, me? *bats eyelashes innocently*
29) Did you do a lot of drugs in 2007?
Only the prescription kind.
30) Did you hope for something you didn't get in 2007?
Yes, but that doesn't keep me from hoping.
31) Did you do anything you are ashamed of this year?
No, but I can think of one thing I would probably do differently given the choice.
32) What was the biggest lie you told in 2007?
"I know you're not the one who's holding up the process..."
33) What was the worst lie someone told you?
"It will all be sorted out in a couple of weeks."
34) Did you treat somebody badly in 2007?
I don't think so.
35) Did somebody treat you badly in 2007?
Yes, but we talked about it.
36) How much money did you spend in 2007?
Just about as much as I made! Mostly on responsible things like bills, whee.
37) What was your proudest moment of 2007?
Surviving my first Muay Thai session and loving it.
38) What was your most embarrassing moment of 2007?
Nothing springs immediately to mind so I must not have done anything too horrifying.
39) If you could go back in time to any moment of 2007 and change something, what would it be?
I wouldn't. That whole "changing the past" thing causes serious problems in the present.
40) What are your plans for 2008?
To live up to my potential.
i'd like to contest #29 :) LOL!
